S01E04 Code of Honor

Grant and Rob talk about one of the worst episodes of Star Trek – maybe ever – Code of Honor. The quest for a much-ndeeded vaccine leads to Tasha Yar’s kidnap and a memorable scene in which she must fight to the death. It’s a primitive culture in an episode with a hissing holodeck, deathly bird puppets, and a whole lotta racism.

Any similarity to cultures past or present is entirely coincidental.

Episode synopsis: When the leader of an alien culture takes a romantic interest in Lt. Yar, he claims her for his own, to the dismay of his own wife, who, in turn, challenges Tasha in a fight to the death. [Source: Memory Alpha]

  1. The only reason I re-watched this episode was because I wanted it to be fresh in my mind as I listened to your podcast. The “0” rating was totally justified. There is nothing redeeming about this episode and I was not surprised to hear that the actors themselves cringe when recalling it. I took one for the team, fellas. Your podcast is a delight!! I will soon watch “Where No One Has Gone Before” and I am looking forward to listening to the ‘cast. Keep up the stellar (pun intended) work!
